Your Parliamentary Questions

The American Institute of Parliamentarians (AIP) will provide an email response within seven (7) business days of your question being submitted. Please include an email address with your question. Your question should be brief and specific

The role of AIP in fielding such questions consists solely of forwarding your question to certified members of AIP who have indicated they are willing to answer such questions. The response that they provide to you represents their opinion alone, and is not endorsed in any way by AIP. Their response will be based on the information that you have provided, and their response may be incorrect or inaccurate if the information you have provided is incomplete or incorrect or inaccurate, or is subject to misinterpretation in any way.

Often, additional information will substantially change the nature of their response, and they may choose to request such information, or they may identify assumptions they have made about such additional information. Most responses will be brief, and are provided as a public service.

Some questions may be too complex, and some situations too serious, to be appropriately addressed by a "free" service such as this. Either the individual who responds to you, or some other parliamentarian (AIP provides referrals on request), may need to provide a fee-based response to your question, if it requires substantially more time to investigate or research or explain, than a free response would take. Even if they provide legal advice in their response, AIP has not determined that any of our respondents have legal expertise, and you should seek appropriately qualified legal advice for any questions with legal implications.
